INFO ABOUT ALANYA |
The beautiful region of Alanya, located along the Turkish Riviera is truly a feast for the senses.
It’s where the sea, the weather and nature all offer visitors an experience that is nothing short of delightful.
The Turkish Riviera itself offers not just various tourist attractions, it is also situated in the midst of a bustling,
thriving city full of infrastructure and businesses with excellent standards of service.
To the east and west of the region are turquoise waters with sun-kissed gold beaches.
The Taurus Mountains provide an excellent backdrop to unspoilt resorts, towers and harbours guarded by the old Red Tower.
Alanya is also home to a beautiful holiday resort of the same name,
which is situated just out of the Mediterranean Sea between two long sandy beaches.
The resort itself holds numerous restaurants, cafes, bars as well as stores and supermarkets.
To the west of the resort is the Cleopatra Beach and to the east is the Alanya Keykubat beach where a good range of water sports
are available for the athletic visitor. Just along the old town is a maze of streets and vendors tempting shoppers with
food and other unique products.
Despite its delightful climate, with about 320 sunny days a year, friendly people, stunning scenery,
wonderful beaches and rich cultural heritage, Alanya remains a relatively well-kept secret. Unlike some of our European neighbours,
Alanya/Turkey is still largely undiscovered - dare we say unspoilt! Indeed Alanya would not be called the pearl of the Mediterranean Sea for nothing.
Visitors will also find that Alanya has an easy-going night life. The night spots located at the edge of the town cater
to different types of guests, from those who prefer the steady, chillout vibe, to the real night goers who prefer lively bars and discos.
Because Alanya is a large place, there’s bound to be something here for everyone, from rock lovers, to pop fans, to salsa and even for
Turkish music enthusiasts.
Of course, no trip to Alanya is complete without taking side trips away from the city. The Taurus Mountains
offer a completely different and exciting experience, as this is usually where time is considered to stand still.
From the heart of Alanya, it takes about half an hour before major infrastructures, buildings and hotels are replaced
by traditional houses. A few miles away are other mountains and valleys that will surely give you a taste of the real soul of the region.
Despite all the attractions, property prices are still amazingly low in the Turkish Riviera, between Alanya and Antalya ,
much like how they were 20 years ago in Spain. The leading overseas property purchasing magazine, ‘A Place in the Sun’,
rates ALANYA/Turkey as one of the latest property hotspots, with a good rental value for money. Although these houses are much larger than
the rest in Europe, the prices are incredibly much more modest. Additionally, the cost of living in the region is much lower,
which adds to the appeal of this place. There are many reasons why now is a good time to invest in Turkish properties.
Gazipaşa airport, is due to come on stream in 2009 and is just 30 minute drive from the centre of Alanya.
This will have a positive influence on property prices in the region. The new development will result in an increase of
low cost flights to the region.
